When Jesus was born in Bethlehem,
In the days of Herod the king.
Wise men followed the star in the east,
Bringing gifts to show highest esteem.
Herod sought to do harm to the child,
Commanding the wise men’s return.
But God led the men by His star in the night,
With their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
With exceeding great joy, they came to the house,
Where they saw Mary and her child.
Giving honor and glory to Jesus the Lord,
To the Holy One they did bow.
God warned in a dream not to return…
To Herod, they must not go.
They returned to their homes another way,
With joy and obedience… they did show.
Let us be as the wise men seeking,
To find the new born king…
Let us fall to our knees and worship,
As gifts of praises we bring.
