They Called Him Jesus

Jesus was named prophetically. Matthew 1:21 says, "But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.' All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' - which means, 'God with us.'"

God had a plan…a wonderful perfect plan for mankind. A plan in which no demon or Satan himself could stop. He had a plan in which he had every minute detail precisely worked out.

God had a plan with a perfect name. His name was to be called, Jesus. Yes, Jesus, Prince of Peace, Immanuel, Messiah, King of Kings, Son of God, Mediator, Redeemer, Way, Truth, Life, Savior, Light of the World, and many more. In fact, there are 700 names scholars have found in the Bible for Jesus. Many of these names are descriptive.

God sent the perfect sacrifice… unspotted by sin, that he might live and die that we… born in sin, might have forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.

Yes, Jesus was born on that wondrous night. Born of a virgin, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and placed in a manger. And they called him, Jesus! No man or beast can change it. No one can hide the truth… He was born, died and rose victorious from the grave. Some may try to hide it, some may keep the wonderful story out of schools, courthouses or out of the malls, but let our voices be heard…..Wonderful Savior, “Jesus” is alive and lives forevermore! Praise his Holy Name.

Happy Birthday Jesus….

Merry Christmas!
