"Front Porch Inspirations"![]() ![]() ![]() As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, I have always been fond of fishing Since I was a little tot. Some of my fondest memories Center around fish I caught. June mornings on the ocean waves With mackerel hitting hard. The waters rippling and boiling, The schools act like hungry sharks. And those days upon the waters With my earthly dad, Bring back precious memories Of the good times that we had. But my fishing buddy passed away, For years no lines I wet. I set aside my tackle box Fishing pole and net. Then one day I met the Savior, Who took away death's sting. I now have a heavenly Father Who is my every thing. And once again I'm fishing, But I don't even take a pole. For the game I'm going after Is lost and dying souls. I have a new fishing partner; I no longer land mackerel and sole. I'm fishing with the Master, And we're reeling in human souls. Life's never been more exciting Since becoming a fisher of men. I love trolling for sinners Hooking and reeling them in. In fishing with the Master No greater joy I've found. I pray I'll lay at Jesus' feet The soul winner's crown. © 2006 George Thurlow ![]() ![]() ![]()
