Does your life move along rapidly with business meetings, Church organizational meetings or school parent, teachers meetings? Do you feel as if you’re the ‘Energizer Bunny’ on your last charge? Are you a cliffhanger, living on the edge expecting any moment to go over?
Perhaps you’re one who received Christ as your Savior several years ago; you’re filled with the Spirit of God, pray faithfully and know the Word frontward and backwards, but you’re so busy ‘serving God,’ you don’t have time to 'serve people.’ Perhaps you’re insensitive to others’ needs. Faith seems to be at an all time low.
Just as a battery needs recharging, a Christian needs a power charge. What is a power charge? It’s simply put, the awesome power of God working in your life. “So how do I get this power charge?” You may ask. Love is the answer. “Agape Love, my friends.” Agape is the God kind of Love…. selfless, Christ dwelling and working in you. Without this love we have no power in our lives. God cannot release his power in and through us unless we are willing to love others. If we truly love God and want to serve him, we must serve others.
Love is more than “doing, giving, or even saying the words.” Love requires action, is kind, gentle, places others above oneself. Love is honest and open to other’s views. Love forgives, not once, but many times.
It’s easy to love the loveable, but what about the unlovable? We all know those who are more than a bit difficult. Those are the ones God brings across our paths to love, not once, but over and over again. If we want to see the power of God flowing in our lives, we absolutely must, allow love to flow in and through us.
John 15:12-13 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” KJV
Time to recharge that battery? Start flowing, flowing and flowing in love and the Spirit of God.
