Merry Christmas

While going through some of my Christmas cards from Christmases past, I found one my grandchild made for me while in the third grade. She is now in Junior High School.

The card graces the top of my computer desk along with several others I’ve received thus far this year. But my eyes are continually drawn back to her card. Simplistic to the natural eye, she painstakingly drew the words, Merry Christmas with glue and then tapped glitter over the glue allowing it to dry. After which, she then worked on the inside by cutting out a frame for a picture the school teacher took of all the children individually standing by their Christmas tree.

Each time I open this card, I see her precious face and think of the love involved in making this creation especially for me. Those little acts of giving of her time and self simply bless my heart!

God created and sent a special gift… an invitation, if you will… for every single person. He sent this gift in simplicity. In the humblest of circumstances, Mary gave birth to God’s only begotten son and placed him in a manger for there was no room for them in the Inn.

What love God has for us that he would send his son to be born to die on a cross for my sins and for yours. It was one simple act of love, one difficult task for the Savior. Yet, he was obedient and willing to do the Father’s will.

This Christmas, we, at Front Porch Inspirations, would like to wish you A Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and pray that the God of Peace will fill your heart with his love and peace through the coming year.
