Can It Get Any Worse?
by Marie Williams
Lift up your eyes and look about you; All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. NIV
Are there moments in your life when you feel the depths of sorrow, experience the feelings of helplessness, and life seems anything but joyous. You walked the walk of faith, served your fellowman, and still, it seems all your efforts for God have been forgotten? You find yourself asking, “Can it possibly get any worse?”
In the stillness of the night, God comes to you with his answer. His promises are true, and yes, he is faithful. There will be fruit from the seed sown. There will be ‘much fruit’. Lift up the head that hangs down; see the children, friends, and neighbors you have poured out your life in. These are the ones you’ve influenced by the life you’ve lived before them; and the love you have given. No, it won’t get worse, it will only get better!
Your investment was not wasted. They’re coming back to share in their wealth of joy and blessings multiplied by the seeds you’ve sown. They want to share the good fruit. No matter how small your seed, or how insignificant it seems to you, remember, God multiplies.
Rejoice in the Lord, and thank him for the things he is doing in your life. You are a chosen vessel created by God to do his great and mighty works. Rejoice and praise his name.
Father, we thank you for your faithfulness to us. Thank you for revealing truth when Satan tries to weaken our faith with his lies. Thank you for reminding us as we plant the seeds, they will be watered, and multiplied. We will see fruit from our labors. Amen
